                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA,
                   MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON
                   SATURDAY, JUNE 5, 1993, FOR THE "GREAT
                   TENNESSEE RIVER DRAG RACE" SPONSORED BY THE
                   TENNESSEE JAYCEE FOUNDATION, INC., UNDER
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                   
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of Riverfront Parkway from South River Street 
to
       Chestnut Street, the temporary closing of Market Street between
       Frazier Avenue and 2nd Street, and the temporary closing of
       Riverside Drive between the Mabel Street ramp and Chestnut Street 

       from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and the closing of Market Street
       between Frazier Avenue and 2nd Street from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 
p.m.
       on Saturday, June 5, 1993, for the "Great Tennessee River Drag
       Race" sponsored by the Tennessee Jaycee Foundation, Inc., 
provided
       that the sponsors shall install and remove all traffic control
       devices in accordance with the traffic control plan attached
       hereto and shall provide, at all times, an access lane for
       emergency vehicles.
